It's been too long

So I realize that the majority of the people who have ever stumbled upon this blog have pretty much given up on ever seeing something on here again but I don't care, gonna write anyway. Not even sure what about quite yet but I have been looking on some posts of my buddies and thought how sad it is that I have not written since February.

So right now school is getting to the point that it's no longer new and we're all getting back into having a routine everyday. I like routines so it's nice to be on a schedule. The unfortunate part of it is that I don't get to see Matt as often as he is BUSY BUSY BUSY these days. He goes to Wasatch Jr. High early in the morning to teach his choir class, which he loves btw, says it's the thing he looks forward to each day (Gee I thought it was coming home to see me :-) then he speeds off to school at the U where he is late even before he makes it to his car. Going to be a fun class for him to keep up on. Next he comes home  and we try to make some kind of a dinner for him to take to work at Enterprise rent a car. The poor guy works so hard for our family and I love him so much for it!!!!

I had a busy summer filled with and AMAZING trip to Hawaii, trips to the Zoo, BBQ's, playing on the playground outside our door, walking to the library, MANY shave ice trips, LOTS of getting together with both sides of the family (which I always enjoy), a few parades, babysitting, a Bee's game for my birthday with my fam, got a new look, some spectacular fireworks, watched me some Olympics, piano lessons preparing for our piano recital that we just had and was a total success, and being with friends that I miss like crazy when I'm not with them.

I'm so excited that Fall is here, getting to wear sweaters, boots and cardigans WOOT! The only bad thing about Autumn however is the freezing cold that follows it BLEH!
Bye for now, hopefully it's not 7 months before the next post heh.

My wonderful husband, isn't he cute?
My adorable piano students. They worked so hard for this recital I was very proud of them.
Brigham City Temple Open House, It was even more special sharing it with my friends!
Gotta have a silly face in here.
These are Emmalyn's buddies, a couple have moved away but they are all so cute together.

Last call for the binkies

I was talking with my Mother-in-law yesterday about when her kids were done with their binkies and today decided to throw ours away. So I asked Emmalyn this morning what she thought about throwing her binkie away in the garbage. She was surpisingly ok with it and wanted to throw it in "garbageman" which means she wanted to throw it in the dumpster garbage. So we got all ready to go outside

Right before we went outside, not sure why she looks so sad because she really was so excited to go to the "garbageman".

She's such a big girl, I can't believe how calm she was about this whole thing.

Since she was so big I gave her a sucker and a Chocolate bar (the last of her Halloween candy finally). Now we'll see how she really feels when she takes her nap and at bedtime.
I have to admit I'm a little sad that one of her comfort items is gone, it just makes me realize how big she is getting. When she threw them in the garbage I almost cried but I was ok watching how ok she was with it. I'm really interested to see how she does at naptime and bedtime which is in 30 minutes. I just barely asked her if she wanted to go take a nap. She said not yet, then said "no binkie anymore", wow so impressed!

Emmalyn's first haircut

Emmalyn's hair has been getting so long and was always in her eyes so I decided to give her a little clip of her bangs. My sweet mom was able to do it so that I could hold her still (Em wasn't too happy about having a sharp item so close). We've always taught her to never touch knives, scissors or anything sharp so of course she would be scared of getting her hair cut.

Here's her bangs before we cut them

And now after. She was still pretty sad after the haircut but smiled as soon as my Dad came by her. She's only smiling in this picture because my Dad was teasing her here.

My little puddin'

Emmalyn has gotten so independant lately which I love, she's so big! After lunch one day she wanted a pudding cup and decided she had a better way of getting the goodness in her mouth.

Then decided it's best to just suck it out hahaha.

Caught in the sleep

Here's how Emmanlyn's nap schedule usually goes. She goes in her room at 2 and knows she has to be in there for 2 hours. She can play, read books, sleep or whatever but she needs to be in there for 2 hours. So she plays for an hour and a half, drops wherever she is and sleeps for 2 hours. So it's hilarious to go in her room once she's quiet to see where she fell asleep. Here are only a couple of those pics.

This is in the corner of her room. To her left is her bed, to the right is her changing table. We filled it up with all of her stuffed animals. looks pretty comfy to me.

This one is my favorite one! She is sleeping on the back of a bowl chair, I love the foot up on the chair

In Your Arms - Kina Grannis (Official Music Video)

Must check out this video, I love the song and the background was actually made with real jelly beans. Also the first song that is played on my blogs playlist is the actual song, just to entice you to listen :-)

New job and a new home!

Matt was hired at 2 different jobs YAY! They're both part-time so that's why he went for 2. One is with Metro security, he didn't have to go through the training process as he already had a security liscense. His first shift was on Monday at the State Fair. The other job is with Enterprise car rental and today was his first day on the job. He already told me that his co-workers are great to work with. They also just told him that his family gets a 40% discount so if anyone is ever in need of a car rental ask Matt and he'll hook you up (he told me to write this). Also we are finally back in our own apartment again. We had such a BLAST at my parents house and Matt's parents we were all sad to leave both, thanks so much for everything Mom and Dad!!!! We're up at the University Village again, we just loved our ward so much and it's really great to be this close to campus for Matt. It took about a week but we're just about completely unpacked, all that's left to do is put up decorations. I won't lie though I've had to get pretty creative. In our other apartment (the 300 court where we lived before and 700 court where we now live have a different set-up) there was a linen closet, a pantry and tons of counters not to mention a storage closet. I have none of those here so the closets and cupboards we do have are filled to the brim. We also realized that we needed to find a bookcase or 2 so we looked on ksl.com and actually found some free ones!!!!! There wasn't a picture of them so we called and decided to give them a look. There were 4 of them and luckily they folded up for easy transportation. I LOVE THEM!!!! They are a dark cherrywood and we've been able to get all of our AAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Sorry Emmalyn just spit a mouth full of liquified crackers all over me! To finish my last sentence, we've been able to get all of our books, cd's and movies on them. Well anyway, pictures soon to come of our decorated home.

End of a decade

Many people have already blogged about this so I'm just going to add my thoughts to theirs.

HARRY POTTER!

I was introduced to Harry Potter in junior high by my friend Marianne who told me that the books were amazing and you can't put them down. It sounded like my kind of book as I had previously been into everything that Rohld Dahl wrote and other authors like that so I thought I'd give them a try. At that time the 3rd book was out and people were anxiously awaiting the 4th book, I quickly became one of them as I could not put those first 3 books down. The books are just like plunging your face into a pensieve and watching everything happen. Her details are exact and you can imagine every single thing that is going on. I recently finished the series Fablehaven which is also an AMAZING book but one thing I didn't like was when something big happens in the book you have to read and re-read the sentence a few times because there was no warning and it gets a little confusing. When J. K. Rowling writes you understand everything and even find yourself gasping when it happens. I grew up along with the books and had many dreams where I was with the characters in their world. I use to believe that I couldn't see them because they were under the invisibility cloak but they were there. When the first movie came out I was in heaven because I could finally put a face with the characters. I was even more excited when I realized my initials were the same as Harry Potters (at the time) and the actor who plays Harry Potter shared the same birthday as me. I stayed up all night readying those books, I pre-ordered them, I'd go crazy when each book ended because I couldn't wait for the next installment. When the 7th book came out I spent every minute I could to find out how it ended, it made me a little sad though because that world came to an end but I still had the movies to look forward to. With the end of the final movie there was a huge feeling of sadness because I realized I was done with that world. Oh I'll always be able to re-visit the books and even watch the movies but there isn't anything else to anticipate anymore. It's like a friend moved away and I wont get to see them again. Call me cheesy and maybe I am but I will miss that world.

Life in a nut shell

So it's been a while since I've blogged but that's not entirely my fault. I've tried a couple of times before but as Marisa pointed out that blogger has a problem with internet explorer which is what I am using so it's deleted my blog after trying to post. So frustrating especially since my last attempt was quite a long blog. So here's another try to tell you guys of all the happenings going on in my life. As everyone will start out there's not much to tell because life for me is BORING but I'll try as much as possible to keep the whining down.
Matt and I were living with my parents for what was suppose to be a month and a half and turned into 3 when his job decided to tell him that you can't stay in Alabama if you don't bring in results. I was excited to see a new state but in all honesty I wasn't looking forward to being away from friends and family. It's going to be really hard for me if Matt gets a permanent job in another state someday (if we ever finish college). So in the middle of June Matt decided that we should move in with Matt's parents because he hasn't had the feeling of being at home since we left our apartment in March. I completely understood what he was talking about but that meant that I'd be home with Matt's family all day until Matt gets home from work around 6. PLEASE don't get me wrong I absolutely love Matt's family, they are always kind to us but it's just always awkward to get something to eat when it's not the house you grew up in. Matt works with a few other guys doing lawn care, it's not the best job but it's something to pay the bills.
We've loved living with both families but we are all REALLY ready to move into a place of our own. I just started looking at craigslist.com for some places that are foreclosed (is that how you say it?) and there are some really good deals out there. You have to pay 200 bucks to even look at the whole website and after 6 months if you don't find anything than you get that 200 back. We're just going to look until mid August when we were going to move into our old apartment complex. I've seen houses with yards that are as little as 600 a month with a rent to own situation, this would be ideal for us and that's what we're on the lookout for. Well I know it was a long post but now you know me so much better. Oh ya one last thing, my brother comes home from serving a mission in Oklahoma on August the 4th!!!!! I'm so excited to see him, we've already started planning a harry potter fest so he can see the last 2.

MORMON RAP

So I was sitting talking to my Mother-in-Law and saw an old cassette tape labeled Mormon Rap. I asked her "what in the world is mormon rap" she said "you HAVE to hear this song" and Emmalyn just could not resist the urge to dance. Here is a little taste, I LOVE IT!

Matt's selling journey so far

So Matt has been in Georgia for 2 weeks now and I thought you all should know just how he is doing. He started out in Thomasville Georgia and for a week was having no luck. He was lonely, discouraged and living off of PB&J's everyday. Then on Monday April the 18th he made 2 sales in one day, then the next day he got one more. He's now in Columbus Georgia selling and more people are passing credit checks than in Thomasville (you have to pay $200 more dollars if you don't pass it, so most people don't do it). He's made a really good friend with a guy up there who has been asking a lot about the church and even considering going with Matt to church on Sunday. We'll keep you posted on that but Matt says he's a really nice guy and really fun to be around. I miss Matt like CRAZY but I'm getting by with both my families. For those who live in Utah, Matt comes back on Friday the 13th of May at 2 in the afternoon and we leave for Georgia on monday the 16th. We were able to get 2 round trip tickets for free, except $15 of tax. If anyone wants to know more about that reply.

Potty Trouble!

So we're staying at my parents home in West Valley and it's a little hard to keep things baby proofed like cabinets and doors closed. When we lived in our aparment you just always closed the bathroom after you but now I can't get people to close them!!! As a result of this if it ever gets silent I make a mad dash to the bathroom and sure enough there I'll find her playing in the toilet with a huge puddle on the floor. I just did this 5 minutes ago and this time she had my hairbrush in the toilet!!!!!! ARGH!!!! What am I going to do with her? I have to admit it is pretty hard to stay mad at her especially when she signs the word "sorry" with her little hand so I get over it pretty fast. As I'm writing this Emmalyn just sqeezed her apple juice box on my pants and spilled a bag of Quaker Rice Snacks on me. I was about to explode when Matt just walked in the door with flowers for me. I just started crying! I love that man so much and I'm going to miss him like crazy! Ok so now life is ok again.

Faces of Emmalyn

My dear sister Emily took some more pictures of Emmalyn the other day and these are the result of that photshoot. I absolutely love every single one of them. Emmalyn is just so photogenic and also my sister is so good at taking good pictures.

As for the latest news, Matt was in Nevada this last weekend selling for Vivint and was able to sell a system while there. That makes 2 for him now, YAY! 8 more and he gets an Iphone which he really wants. When he got home he told me that he leaves for Alabama in about a week and a half which totally stinks! I had a hard time with him being gone for 3 days so I hope that I will be able to get through April with out Matt. He is the bread to my butter and the breath to my life. So once again I will ask if all my lovely friends would like to get together sometime in April before I leave for THE WHOLE SUMMER! Come on guys lets be friends and get together.
