Matt's selling journey so far

So Matt has been in Georgia for 2 weeks now and I thought you all should know just how he is doing. He started out in Thomasville Georgia and for a week was having no luck. He was lonely, discouraged and living off of PB&J's everyday. Then on Monday April the 18th he made 2 sales in one day, then the next day he got one more. He's now in Columbus Georgia selling and more people are passing credit checks than in Thomasville (you have to pay $200 more dollars if you don't pass it, so most people don't do it). He's made a really good friend with a guy up there who has been asking a lot about the church and even considering going with Matt to church on Sunday. We'll keep you posted on that but Matt says he's a really nice guy and really fun to be around. I miss Matt like CRAZY but I'm getting by with both my families. For those who live in Utah, Matt comes back on Friday the 13th of May at 2 in the afternoon and we leave for Georgia on monday the 16th. We were able to get 2 round trip tickets for free, except $15 of tax. If anyone wants to know more about that reply.

Potty Trouble!

So we're staying at my parents home in West Valley and it's a little hard to keep things baby proofed like cabinets and doors closed. When we lived in our aparment you just always closed the bathroom after you but now I can't get people to close them!!! As a result of this if it ever gets silent I make a mad dash to the bathroom and sure enough there I'll find her playing in the toilet with a huge puddle on the floor. I just did this 5 minutes ago and this time she had my hairbrush in the toilet!!!!!! ARGH!!!! What am I going to do with her? I have to admit it is pretty hard to stay mad at her especially when she signs the word "sorry" with her little hand so I get over it pretty fast. As I'm writing this Emmalyn just sqeezed her apple juice box on my pants and spilled a bag of Quaker Rice Snacks on me. I was about to explode when Matt just walked in the door with flowers for me. I just started crying! I love that man so much and I'm going to miss him like crazy! Ok so now life is ok again.

Faces of Emmalyn

My dear sister Emily took some more pictures of Emmalyn the other day and these are the result of that photshoot. I absolutely love every single one of them. Emmalyn is just so photogenic and also my sister is so good at taking good pictures.

As for the latest news, Matt was in Nevada this last weekend selling for Vivint and was able to sell a system while there. That makes 2 for him now, YAY! 8 more and he gets an Iphone which he really wants. When he got home he told me that he leaves for Alabama in about a week and a half which totally stinks! I had a hard time with him being gone for 3 days so I hope that I will be able to get through April with out Matt. He is the bread to my butter and the breath to my life. So once again I will ask if all my lovely friends would like to get together sometime in April before I leave for THE WHOLE SUMMER! Come on guys lets be friends and get together.

Jibber Jabber Baby

So this morning Matt decided to get in Emmalyn's crib with her so she just talked with him while he was there. I love listening to her babble!

Changes being made

So Matt decided yesterday that life is just too stressful for him with 3 full time things, school and 2 full time jobs. He doesn't have time to sleep, do homework, sell security systems and go to work so we decided something had to go. It couldn't be either of his jobs because we need the money so the only logical thing was to leave school for the semester. that being said we have to move out of our apartment because you can't live there if you are not attending school. So at the end of February/starting of March (not sure when yet) we are moving in with my Mom and Dad just until April.
In April everyone who is not in school leaves for the summer to go sell and as we won't be in school that means we're leaving on April 11th. My sister is getting married on the 14th of May so either I stay here while Matt is gone for the month or I go and we all fly back for the wedding. Not sure what yet but I'll let you all know. We decided all of this just yesterday as today is the last day to withdraw from your classes. The reason for dropping school is because he was not able to devote anytime to homework and when he did he just couldn't figure things out because he was so tired. The main hope for working this summer is to make enough so that Matt won't have to work during school and can devote all of his time to his classes. The good thing is that he's not quitting school he is just taking this semester off as he REALLY needs to get some sleep. It also means one more month to sell which will help out a lot.

January

So we are getting more and more excited to leave Utah and head to Alabama for the summer but also more and more nervous as well. I've never lived for more than a week at a time out of the state so this will be a really big adventure for me. Also it kind of scares me that Matt has not made any sales yet which isn't a very good indicator. Matt actually gets to go to Alabama next week from Monday to Wednesday which makes me a loner for a while, anyone up for a party? a visit? an online chat? ANYTHING people seriously I will be SO bored at that time! I'm interested to find out what Matt thinks of Alabama. I just found out that wherever we live is going to be fully furnished so we don't have to take all of our stuff down there. We may just have Emmalyn in the pack N' Play all summer who knows.

My job is slowing down a little bit but I'm hoping it picks up with February's awesome benefits. which are if your party earns at least $125 you get $50 instead of the original $25. If it gets over $400 all 4 benefits double to $50 instead of just the $25. It's a great month to have a party, especially since it's Valentines Month so anyone interested let me know. I'd love to do a party for you. I've got a goal of having 4 different parties for people I don't know, now all I need to do is find some people I don't know.......... wish me luck.

Emmalyn is just a walking, gabbing 1 year old, CRAZY! Her only level of volume is yelling so she is always trying to be louder than anything else that makes noise. She'll also starting talking in her own language to herself and I'll all of the sudden here her laugh at herself, like she said something funny. I don't know what she's saying but she makes me laugh so hard.

And the last thing on my mind is, I miss the sun! I'm so done with winter time. The coldness keeps me inside which makes me go insane. I can't wait for Spring!

SWEET HOME ALABAMA

We're moving to Alabama baby!!!! Ok only for the summer but still I'm pretty excited. Matt is going to be selling security systems for APEX soon to be VIV-INT (I think that's how to spell it). Matt will leave as soon as his finals are over for the semester and I will stay until after my sister gets married on May 14th SO EXCITING!!! Then we'll head back after that.
My awesome brother gets home from him mission sometime in August so depending on when he gets home we may come back a little earlier or right before school starts in the fall. Anyway, wish us luck! I am dreding packing :-(

Grey Day

fSo today is a grey day and I'm not just talking about the weather. I'm talking about the kind of day when you don't have the motivation to do ANYTHING and that's what I'm feeling today. It's not the blues because I'm not entirely sad but I just don't want to do anything. It's really quite a bummer really because I've got 2 people somewhat dependant on me. What's worse is when I get in these moods the only thing I do want to do is watch movies or be on the computer which doesn't help when there are things I need to do. Does anyone out there get in these kinds of ruts? How do you get yourself out of them?

Emmalyn's first word in action

Alright so in addition to saying momma dadda and hi we figured that Emmalyn's first real word was tickle because she actually tries to tickle us while she says it. Here's a clip of her trying to tickle me.

Lots O' Changes

So Matt and I have made a couple of changes to our occupations this week. I've started my own independent business with Premier Jewlery, meaning I'm going to be selling jewlery. I've always wanted to do something like this because I love it when us girls all get together and have a good time. I was very close to selling Mary Kay as I love the product but after learning about what it takes to become a consultant I really couldn't see myself doing it. Then when I was visiting teaching one of the sisters in my ward she was telling me how she sells jewlery and I thought, "oh no she's going to try and get me to host a party" as most of us would think right off. Then when she heard that I almost did Mary Kay she came over and talked to me about it and it was so much different! I can't wait to do this, and get to meet new people not to mention help out with finances. Seriously, I'm excited so now I have to put in a plug, if anyone is interested in hosting a party I would love to do one for you. You wouldn't have to buy jewlery at all, it's just to help me practice and also just for holding a party you automatically get $25.00 of free jewlery which means if you find something that you like but can't afford it just host a party and then you'll be able to. And come on, it's me I'm not pushy at all!
Anyway as for Matt he is still doing security guarding but he has also decided to join APEX selling security systems. Which means that next summer we'll be moving for 4 months to wherever they send us and I have to tell you I'm really excited about. I've never lived outside of Utah before, atleast not more than a week and I can't wait! Too bad we signed on this early eh? So hopefully these changes are going to be for good and don't end up being a problem, we feel really good about both so here's hoping.

Emmalyn's 1 year birthday!

Here she is just starting out licking every single finger. She kept looking at me, are you serious you're really going to let me eat this by myself?
Getting it all over the mouth.

You can see the sugar in her eyes, she stayed up until 1:00 that night.

And then she went crazy!!!!! We had a blast that night and by the looks of it so did Emmalyn.

Needless to say her diaper the next morning brought new meaning to the song, "New Moon"

Christmas music in November? Count me in!

While driving down to West Valley this morning I decided to turn to FM 100.3 and lo and behold they are already playing Christmas music. I'm sorry for all of you who don't believe in music until December but I believe that it is just too good of music to only hear for 1 month. I was singing my heart out and it made me so happy! I love this time of year, beautiful colors everywhere you look and just cool enough for a sweater or a jacket although I'm sure that will be changing very soon. What a wonderful world.

1 year birthday!!!

Can you believe it, my little girl is 1 years old today! I can hardly believe it myself, this last year has gone by so fast. Now I can say a year ago I wasn't pregnant. At this moment 1 year ago I was holding my new daughter only a few hours old, feeling like junk but not being able to take my eyes off of her. Everyone told me to have her stay with the nurses during the night but I really didn't want to let her go. I had waited 9 months to get her and I didn't want to be away from her for a moment more. (New moms-to-be I don't encourage this because after 3 or 4 nights of no sleep I was crying at everything).
It's amazing to me how much Emmalyn has changed in 1 year, she's crawling, walking along everything (with assistance still) says words like Momma, Dada, tickle, hi (especially when holding a phone to her ear) and I absolutely love her babbling, she really thinks that she is talking to me and we love making up what she is saying. Her smile and laughter can turn my day around so quickly it's the best medicine. I love my little girl so much and can't imagine how we did with out her. Here's to many more birthdays, who knows what she'll be doing by this time next year?

Look at those eyes.

My sister Emily wanted to take some pics of Emmalyn and this is one of them. Isn't she just gorgeous? My sister is so good with a camera, thanks Em!

Pics of my little angel

A very common face for Emmalyn, just picture her saying oooh.

Bath time with the duckies, she loves chewing on them.

My friend Kendall and me taking our little girls on the carousel at the zoo, they both really loved it. I didn't leave Emmalyn like this, we sat in one of the none moving chairs and then posed after.

Isn't that the most adorable face you ever saw?

Here's a little video clip of Emmalyn playing with her dad, it makes me laugh every time.

A pair of Sickies!

Last week we watched one of my nephews and the next day we found out that he had a virus called Hand-foot-and-mouth which is very contagious. So we were watching to see if Emmalyn would get it. Sure enough she did which means that I also got it but only a mild case. But it feels like the flu which doesn't feel mild to me. On the eve of my birthday too!!! Hopefully it will be gone before then cuz we're both miserable.

It also doesn't help that our apartment is stifling hot so we just put Emmalyn in a onsie day and night. Also since Emmalyn just started crawling so her crawling around on the carpet just irritates the spots on her knees. Poor little girl, I can take her being sick but when I'm sick too and I just want to sleep all day it's hard to take care of a baby. I took her to the pediatricial and they said it's on the down hill which is wonderful, we just can't take her anywhere until she is better.

LAGOON DAY & MONOPOLY!!!

So I would say that one of the most happiest places in Utah is Lagoon! I absolutely love that place, so many memories and I think that I have gone there almost every year since I was little (except for last year because I was looking forward to having Emmalyn too much). Something that I also use to do when I was little was play monopoly the night before going to Lagoon but my husband Matt had to work his grave shift which presented a problem. I was just going to forgo the game but my cute hubs suggested that since we have 2 sets of Monopoly he could take the Disney set to work (thank you Angie for that set) and I'd play with the regular set at home. Since we have free minutes talking to each other we just talked on the phone from around 10 PM to around 3 PM. Matt usually secures buildings during the night but this particular night he had to work in his car so he had to do some finagling to get everything to fit just right. He's got his money pile in the door handle.

I was kind of tired so forgive the tired look. My set up was a lot easier.

Lagoon was so much fun, we were able to go with my brother-in-law Dan and his wonderful wife Roz, her brother Austin and my awesome sister-in-law Katie. We had a BLAST! This is us just about to go on the Jet Star and no I did not tell them to all make the same face, just happens when you're that awesome.

I love this man so much, any place could be the funnest place on earth with him.
