IT'S HERE IT'S HERE!!!!!

One of my most favorite time of the year!!! I just love Halloween so much, and today is shaping up to be the best day. It's cloudy and I've already heard my first Halloween song, The Monster Mash. This is the best day, I mean the smell of candles in pumpkins, kids running around in costumes, the wonderful doughnuts that my mother makes, WOW this is one of the best days!!! Hope everything is as good for you as it is for me, love you all!

Update on me and the hubby

Why hello friends, sorry it has been a while but every time I try to write something I can never think of anything intereting. You guys are always writing way cool updates so I gotta step it up a notch. Well for starters I am currently trying to get a job at the Legacy nursing home and instead of going into Special Education I am going to go into Nursing. I'm hopping that I'll like it cuz it seems really perfect!!! Matt is also trying to get another job, which would be so exciting but it's going to be 4 to 8... IN THE MORNING! I'm just hopping he doesn't fall asleep in all of his classes. the biggest problem is that if/when I get my job (trying to stay positive here) he'll get off at 8, I will probably start work at 8 and when I get off I'll head to my other job and when I get off from that I'll go home, to where Matt will already be asleep. Tuesdays through Thursdays will suck! I'll never see my husband! Well on the positive side his birthday is coming up and I do love a good birthday cake. Well I think that that's about it. I hope you all are doing very well. I love you all, have the best day!

18 hour shift events

Well Tuesdays I work from 3 in the afternoon to 9 the next morning so since I'm doing my grave right now (it's 5:30 A.M. by the way) and other than just watch the 4th season of Gilmore Girls I thought that I'd write you all about how my day has been. Well first of all one of the girls I work with has a kidney infection so she's now in the hospital and that is where our story begins. I picked up Matt at work during his break so that he could drive me to the hospital to spend 6 hours in a room reading a book and occasionally making conversation to make the girl feel comfortable. Then Matt picked me up at 9 and drove me to the house I work at where after I put the 2 other girls to sleep I continued reading where I left off in my book. It's a murder mystery and since I'm up all by myself during the night I had to stop that idea. So I first watched A Knights Tale (fell asleep for a few minutes shhh don't tell) and now I'm going through my 2 DVD of the 4th season of Gilmore Girls. And now it's 6:10 A.M. 3 HOURS LEFT!!!! Then at 9 Matt will be picking me up and it's off to the home (that's dirty and needs cleaning) where I will take a long nap until I have to go back to work at 3 for 3 hours. hmmm you know this sounds like I'm complaining but I really do love my job!!!! It's the best job in the world. Well I'm going to go finish my Gilmore Girls, wow I'm tired!
FYI if anything doesn't seem coherant I'm just really tired.

I love hiking

Yesterday for family night, Matt and I went hiking to the wind caves. It was so much fun and so peacful. I could really tell that I was out of shape because we had to stop so many times. Maybe that's a sign hmmm. Anyway, on the way down I sort of took us down the wrong trail and we hit a dead end, but not right before I almost stepped on a huge snake. Holy scaryness I screamed really loud! Anyway, we headed back the way we came and found the right trail that got us back to the car. We both had a blast and when we got home we played a way awesome game called Missionary Impossible of which I won woohoo, but barely. I love the married life. I highly recommend it to all my single friends!

HOLY COWNESS!!!!

So, today being the 14th of August is no ordinary day my friends, oh no. It is a marker for something, as is every 14th but this one is the most exciting of them all. This day ladies and....if any gentlemen ever read this, is the marking of 1 month left before my Elder buddy comes home from his 2 year missin in Hawaii. Okay, so maybe this date isn't as exciting to you as it is to me, but I've been waiting for this day a long time. Well, technically I'm waiting for the next 14th but this 14th is the last one I have to wait for until I can be 1 month closer to him coming home. I mean, I've counted the last 24 14ths's of the months and now I'm so excited to be excited for the here and now. WAHOO, for counting, cuz in the end...hopefully it pays off.

realization

I've been the night manager of a restraunt for about a month now and I gotta tell you that it has been the most stressful thing that I have ever done in my life. I didn't choose to be the night manager, I was asked to be it. I would never take it back because I have definately grown a lot through out this but I am just having a hard time with this new responsibilty. It's hard to feel that you aren't good enough, that you don't measure up to those around you or who came before, and it's really hard to swallow when you are told this everyday. I feel like I can't ever do it. I hate that I don't have the best sense of humor, I hate that I feel like I have to compete with others, I hate hate hate having these feelings. I'm constantly worrying if I did a good job the night before or if my boss is going to ream me again for not doing anything right. If it's not for getting out too late, it's that I didn't send people home when we weren't busy and I know that my boss and his pet elizabeth are always laughing at me when I make a mistake. Then again, I hate it when people tell me, "you know, maybe this kind of management isn't for you". I want to do this, I have to, to prove it to myself and to others. I want to do a good job, I want to accomplish this. I will come out conquerer.

The Future

It's coming close to my birthday and I can't tell you what an eye opener it has been for me. I know that turning 20 doesn't necessarily mean that from now on you have to be grown up, I'm still immature, but it's still a little scary. I was laying in bed one night trying to fall asleep but my mind kept thinking of things that would or could happen in my life. I started thinking, some day I could actually get married, have children and take care of a family, and just everything that comes with growing up. It maked me happy for the spot I'm in right now, but then I started to get excited for those times, Life has a funny way of being good for us but then changing to keep us humble.

Summer drudgeries

Many blogs have talked about going back to work lately, and I'm going through the same thing. Isn't it sad that we can't just enjoy the summer but that we have to go straight into working hard again. It seems like that is how most of life is, you work hard and finally when you accomplish something you have to start something even harder. It's almost as if it's like that movie Finding Neverland where Mrs. Snow says at the end "it's all due to the ticking clock, time is chasing after all of us." I am glad that I have something to do with my time instead of staying around the house doing nothing but why does life have to go so fast.

In need of a hand

A few weeks ago I had everything going for me. I had just finished school for the 2nd year, I thought that my grades would be great, I had a boyfriend, and many goodfriends, and a job. Well, I still have a job and many I hope to call goodfriends but everything else has just started to fall apart. I thought I knew who I was and I once liked that person but now I find I confuse myself. It's not that I don't have a boyfriend but like I've said, it's just starting to fall apart. The one thing that I can hold onto lately is the gospel and hope that everything works out. In saying all of this I'm not asking for sympathy I just need a hand.

Wide awake at 5

I sit on my couch trying to finish my assignment that is due at 7:30 in the morning,
sleep tries to overcome me at 2 in the morning.
I listen to beautiful music placed for my listening by mater,
my down comforter is calling my name at 3 in the morning.
I text mater to see if he's still working on his assignment due in the morning
because at 4 in the morning I need something to keep me awake.
I look at the clock saying that it's 5 in the morning,
oddly I'm wide awake.
I find myself not wanting to go to bed
because who can wake up at 7 in the morning when they went to sleep at 5.
I don't want to miss the sunrise
so I stay up the whole morning to see it.
I will probably regret this later
because I'm wide awake at 5!

Ode to Quizno's

Oh Quiznos how I love thee most,
Can't get enough of your sweet toast.
Working there is never boring,
When everyone is quite annoying (except Q2 cuties).
The lovely DING I hear for drive thru,
Is only bad when big trucks pull through.
I must mention doing dishes,
when my hands just feel like fishes (add in by Fezzik).
And when customers complain,
Makes me want to point and aim!!
But it's all worth it in the end,
Cuz a big check the Quiz will send!
I'll be loyal all of my days
maybe some day I'll get a raise!

The rump sticker

Just so everyone is aware this is an assignment that I had to do for my English 2010 class, I'd love some feedback if it's not too much trouble.

Alright, we can all agree that bumper stickers send a message about the person driving, but what is even more classic about them is no matter what is being said on the bumper it's hilarious to watch people stare at them. You are stopped at a red light, your eyes start to wander and all of the sudden you look in your rear view mirror to see someone squinting to read what your bumper sticker says. What's even better is when you are driving away while they are still trying to read it and they start to tailgate you so that they can finish it.

Why does this have anything to do with Kairos you may ask; plenty. Bumper stickers are all about timing. You wouldn't say something about the Y2K bug because nobody cares about that anymore. All of that junk between Bush and Kerry is over so who wants to take precious tailgating time to read about them. But then again there are those ones that will always be timeless such as "My other car is a Batmobile", "I'm not spoiled, I just get what I want", and "honk if you love Jesus" (which of course a honk in response would prove this to be true).

One of these bumper stickers will continue to be placed and no one will care about it except for those who put it there, and that is... "My child is an honor student". Of course, the child will think that this is completely out of date when he graduated some time ago and is flipping burgers at the local McDonalds. How honorable! The all terrain cars with the bumper stickers that say, "If you can read this, turn my jeep over" (as the bumper sticker is upside down) is a personal favorite of mine. Who is going to be reading a bumper sticker when the car is turned over?

By far the Bumper Sticker that is my favorite says “IYQSU” which interpreted is “I like USU” (say every letter individually). Kairosly speaking you wouldn’t care or understand this bumper sticker unless you were a fan of or attended USU. By sticking a message on the “rear” of a car a connection is being made between the driver and everyone else. As in the exercise, the bumper with FLYNHI could be taken as the person is just always happy feeling on top of the world or they are a druggy and is literally flying high (in which case, police should read bumper stickers more often).

But in all actuality placing any kind of bumper sticker on your car automatically (no pun intended) says something about the driver. A car caked with stickers could show either the person has traveled a lot, they like to be heard, or that they will most likely be keeping their clunker forever as no one will buy a bumper sticker infested van. All in all bumper stickers, no matter what they say, will always be in high supply and supplying people with a good laugh and endless legal tailgating.

Elementary Observation

Well, today I went to a 1st grade class room (for my El Ed class) and observed how the teacher taught her kids. They were completely adorable and I loved every minute of it. When I first arrived there each one wanted to know who I was and tell me who they were so I was able to learn names easily. There is a big cage in the classroom that once occupied a rat who has since passed on to that big cheese in the sky. It now houses stuffed dinosaurs because they were bad as they put it. I was able to read with the kids (whom the teachers refers to as friends) and I was amazed at how much they already know. They were reading along with me and new what most of the words meant. They left for a quick walk outside while I popped some popcorn for them. In only 2 and a half hours I was able to remember most of their names and oh gosh they are all so cute. They are also learning hours and half hours right now which most of them had down. I think that little kids are the cutest. Well, me being a Special Education major I picked out pretty fast which students were not holding their attention as much. One kid wasn't receiving ANY attention from one of the volunteering mothers as she read to them and you could tell that he was pulling for anything he could get. He even fainted at one point so that someone would notice him. The mom just left him there and kept going until another kid did the same and she quickly pointed this out. When it came time to go I just wanted to give them all a hug and say bye-bye real loud but they were all studying and that would have been inappropriate. I can't wait to go back on Wednesday. And to think I was nervous for a bunch of 6 year olds.

Not how I thought it would be

Well, my sister is now a ture Sister missionary as she has left for Ukraine. My family got a call from her this morning at 8:30 and we were able to talk to her for about an hour with 3 people on 3 different phones listening intently. After we said our goodbyes my parents had the idea to go see her plane leave. We knew which kind it would be and about what time her flight would leave so we all got in the Tahoe and sped off to the airport to "see" her plane off. We all kind of got a little melancholy when we saw what we thought was my sisters plane, but then we all got excited thinking of the wonderful experiences she would have. She then called again when she reached Chicago and it was only my mother and me this time. That was really special because we didn't have to share with anyone else. It was just us girls talking. My sister told me that she had seen some of my friends at the MTC, an Elder Dalton and Elder Peterson. Elder Peterson asked my sister if I was waiting for a certain Elder already on his mission and when she said YES he said oh ok. Sadly enough I had a crush on this guy a while ago. I then spoke my last goodbye to her for the next 15 months and after she hung up my mother and I both sighed a little and then got excited again for her. Anyway, the reason for this title is because I thought that I'd be bawling today but I'm so happy for my sister, and thinking about it 3 months have already gone by meaning my sis has only 1 year and 3 months to go. The time will speed by like a pack of flying monkeys. I'm just so proud of her and I had to tell you all so dont worry about me, I'm perfectly happy.

Just Words

Words can be so powerful. They can make you happy, sad, confused, and even mad but who knew that a phrase of these most powerful words can provoke all of these and more. 3 little words combined that can create every feeling in the world. You know how you truely want to react, but everyone tells you to act another way and it eats at your insides. There is no way to make everybody happy so to please the most amount of people, you end up hurting yourself, or even worse....someone you care very much for. Words can be so powerful!

Pink of Perfection

CONFESSION
I love pink, and if you were to look in my closet the majority of my clothes are pink. I even have some pink pants. I wasn't always like this though. Before my older sister left for college (and at christmas time) she would get pink PJ'S and I would get purple or blue ones because we couldn't have matching colors. When she left I kind of went "pink happy" and got everything in pink. I guess it just sort of stuck with me and still the majority of my clothes are pink.

CRAZY? I THINK NOT

WOW Extreme Home Makeover is in my town and I cant believe it. Right now, my roommates and I are waiting around for 4:30 A.M. to go volunteer and I'm sooooo excited cuz:
1- volunteering is soo good for you
2- maybe we'll see Ty HOTTIE TOTTIE WITH THE BODY
3- we'll get a cool EHM T-shirt
4- Maybe we'll be on T.V.
and 5- Who doesn't want to stay up all night so that you wont be tired in the morning?
All my roommates fell asleep and I'll admit I did for about 30 mins in a bath (which was needed) but it also helped me get up. So now it's 3:55 A.M. , my hair is half crimped (cuz it lasts through all activities better that way) I'm listening to Natasha Bedingfield while writing this and I wouldn't trade places with anyone for the world. I pity all you who are sleeping right now, and are missing this beautiful morning.

Almost gone

It only begins with a little sniffle and a few warm feelings growing into one tear, then two and pretty soon a waterfall flowing from your eyes. She talks about the feelings in her soul and makes me miss her already even though she is not gone. It's coming and though I am completely excited for her it scares me thinking that she wont be there for me to call or talk to with all my stories and problems. She knows me better than anyone and I can't imagine not having her around. I love you sister!
